✦ Synopsis
A comparison of temperature fluctuations measured by a microbead thermistor and a fine wire thermocouple over a crop surface. Agric. Meteorol., 20: 281--289.
A microbead thermistor and a fine wire thermocouple were tested for rapid response air temperature measurements over an alfalfa crop. The turbulent statistics (the standard deviations of temperature fluctuations, and the covariances of temperature and vertical velocity fluctuations) and spectra measured with the two sensors under different thermal stratification conditions compared reasonably well. Coherence computations also indicated a fairly high degree of agreement between the time series measured with the microbead thermistor and the fine wire thermocouple.
