## Abstract This study was directed towards investigating suitable compounds to be used as stable isotope reference materials for gas chromatography combustion isotope ratio mass spectrometry (GC‐C‐IRMS) calibration. Several compounds were selected from those used in the ‘Grob‐test’ mixture. Oxygen
