Extended K&man Filter (EKF) and a Fultivariable Adaptive Estimator (MAE) have been applied to the estimation of state variables of a biotechnological process in batch and fedbatch operation. From the simulation-based comparison it appears that EKF leads to a better global estimation (biomass, substr
