β¦ Synopsis
A pilot study comparing a computer #nage source model of an auditorium to its corresponding 1:50 scale model is presented. The physical scale nlodel was measured using the MIDAS measurement hardware and software while the results obtained by computer image source modelling were obtained by using the SIMUL program. Some of the advantages and disadvantages of the respective nlethods are discussed as are the differences obtained in the measured/computed nwasures of room acoustic qualiO,. The results indicate that the methods generally give results for common room acoustic measures which are in reasonable agreement with regard to measurement uncertainO'. However, the choice of materials and measurement technique for the physical scale model as well as input data .for the computer model are critical in this respect.
