✦ Synopsis
M6ssbauer Spectroscopy, supplemented by XRD, EDAX and chemical analysis, was applied to a comparative study of pure C2AxFI_ x solid solutions and ferritephases extracted from three kinds of commercial high-iron cements. The experimental results showed that although pure CzAxFI_ x and the ferritephases were of almost the same XRD patterns, their MSssbauer effects were quite different. In contrast to pure C2AxFI_ x, the ferromagnetic absorption in the MSssbauer spectra of the ferritephases was so weak that it was quite difficult to discern. The isomer shift 5 and quadrupole splitting A EQ for the ferritephases took the value -0.32 ---0.35 mrn/s and 0.80 --0.95 mm/s, respectively, while in the case of pure C2AxFI_ x, the ~i was 0.15 --0.40 mm/s and A EQ 1.75 --1.60 mm/s. For such an abnormal MSssbauer effect in the ferritephases, a tentative explanation has been offered in this article; the substitution of Si n+ ions for the AP + or Fe 3+ ions on the tetrahedral lattice sites was regarded as a dominant mechanism to bring about their differences in M6ssbauer superfine parameters.
