✦ Synopsis
An adaptation of the Waksman-Reilly (6) agar streak assay technique is described in which combinations of antibiotics and other bacteriostats and fungistats may be readily assayed semiquantitatively without preliminary separation, without regard to water solubilities, and without the need for extraction from ointment bases.

Calcium carbonate was precipitated by carbonation of calcium nitrate and monoethanolamine solution. The influence of various organic admixtures on the crystallization, crystal morphology, and polymorphism of calcium carbonate has been studied using different techniques. Normal frog skin permeability to sodium ions and iodide ions was studied using sodium-24 labeled NaCl and iodine-131 labeled NaI. The effect of certain aluminum salts as astringent agents on normal permeability was determined. A rather unexpected increase in the rate of sodium and iodide ion penetra
Nialamide was supplied to slow-growing animals in doses of 20 mg/100 g of diet for 15 or 30 days. The dose for fast-growing animals was 10 mg/100 g of diet. The digestive utilization of calcium and phosphorus decreases significantly when adult slow-growing rats receive the drug for 30 days. This fal
## Abstract The effect of stanniectomy on the net influx of calcium 45 across the gill membrane was investigated using an isolated individual gill perfusion preparation. Two weeks post‐operatively the gills from stanniectomized eels displayed a considerably higher net calcium uptake relative to the
