Abstract
In this letter, a design of a compact ultrawideband (UWB) antenna is presented, which is based on the current distribution of the previously proposed UWB antenna. The portions with little current distribution are cut from the antenna with less effect on the antenna performance. The modified compact UWB antenna yields an impedance bandwidth of 3.0β50.0 GHz with return loss less than β10 dB. The antenna is successfully simulated, designed, and measured showing extremely broadband matched impedance, stable gain and omniβdirectional radiation patterns. Β© 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
