We have realized a compact Bragg grating based Ho^3+^ fiber laser emitting at 2.1 ฮผm with a CW output power of 2 W. The laser is pumped by an Yb^3+^ fiber laser at 1.12 ฮผm, the latter laser being based on a GTWave active fiber pumped by two semiconductor modules with a maximum power of 25 W at 0.98
