## Abstract A novel compact wideband printed diversity antenna for mobile handsets is presented. The antenna comprises two backβtoβback Gβshaped monopoles placed symmetrically with respect to a Tβshaped and dual invertedβLβshaped ground plane. The measured results show that the proposed diversity a

and the input impedance Z in of the ETLNUTL can be determined by using Eq. ( 35) as Z in Ο 1.527 Οͺ j2.197β.
Alternatively, the input impedance Z in can be determined analytically using Eq. ( 27) as
Comparing these results, it is found that both are in very good agreement. Thus, this example illustrates that the T-chart provides accurate results and can be employed in the analysis and design of ETLNUTLs.
5. CONCLUSION
This paper has shown that the T-chart can be employed to solve ETLNUTL problems readily and intuitively by working with the modified input impedance rather than the input impedance. The T-chart is totally different from the generalized Smith chart developed for the ETLNUTL in the literature [3]. It is more convenient and intuitive for solving ETLNUTL problems. In addition, it was found that the T-chart depends on the parameters of ETLNUTLs in a complicated fashion. Thus, a computerized T-chart software has been developed to study ETLNUTL problems effectively. Finally, the computerized T-chart software was shown to provide accurate results when compared with the exact solutions. Thus, it is expected that the T-chart will provide a useful way of visualizing phenomena associated with ETLNUTLs.
