Abstract

In this work, a combination of the physical optics in the time domain (TDPO) method and a time‐domain version of the equivalent currents of the physical theory of diffraction (TDPTD) with the finite‐difference time‐domain method (FDTD) is presented in order to compute scattered fields by flat plates. The technique is applied for calculating the energy absorbed by a human head exposed to an electromagnetic field in the presence of a reflecting wall. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
