β¦ Synopsis
A collision model for thevibrational relaxation of hydrogen fluoride at low temperatures is proposed. Because of the contribution of a strong hydrogen-bond attraction, the molecules are considered to undergo oscillatory motion about their equitibrium orientations This motion is taken to be primarily responsible for the removal of vibrational energy. It is shown that the vibration-to-oscillation energy transfer mechanism explains the vibrational relaxation of HF at temperatures below 600Β°K.

Viscoelastic behavior at elevated temperatures of high-density polyethylene and isotactic polypropylene was investigated by using the stress relaxation method. The results are interpreted from the view of an established two-process model for stress relaxation in semicrystalline polymers. This model
A kinetic model has been developed which accurately represents the kinetics of the oxidation of a thin film of pyrolytic carbon at a total pressure of about 100 Pa in the temperature range 748-898K. The two most important features of the mechanism are the existence of at least two distinct types of
A simple theoretical model that describes the pulsed Davies electron-nuclear double resonance (ENDOR) experiment for an electron spin S β«Ψβ¬ 1 2 coupled to a nuclear spin I β«Ψβ¬ 1 2 was developed to account for unusual W-band (95 GHz) ENDOR effects observed at low temperatures.
