Carl Rogers's nondirective theory and his response style with Gloria (E. L. Shostrom, 1965) are discussed in reply to S. A. Wickman and C. Campbell's (2003) β€œAn Analysis of How Carl Rogers Enacted Client‐Centered Conversation With Gloria.” Client‐centered studies of C. Rogers's transcripts give context for reformulating S. A. Wickman and C. Campbell's β€œdevices” (p. 179) in a manner consistent with C. Rogers's nondirective attitude. Awareness of varying views of C. Rogers's Gloria session as an example of his work can enrich training use of the film.
