โฆ Synopsis
A modification of the electromagnetic field is examined, servi.ng only. as a calculation model for a point charge.
Introductio'n. Simple classical models of the electron are still of interest for the difficulties in the quantum theory. They show typical difficulties themselves. A point charge leads to infinities. A structure of finite extension meets difficulties in a relativistic invariant description. It also requires the introduction of a non-electromagnetic energy-momentum tensor. In this note a model of a point charge is mentioned with a slightly modi;fied electromagnetic field. A fundamental interval of time is introduced, which is the counterpart in coordinate space of the fundamental mass in the Yukawa-Proca interaction field in momentum space. This is explained in the appendix.

A simple mathematical procedure is introduced which allows redefining in an exact way divergent integrals and limits that appear in the basic equations of classical electrodynamics with point charges. In this way all divergences are at once removed without affecting the locality and the relativistic
