## Abstract In this work, we considered a multistage integrated continuous fermentation process for producing lactic acid. Each stage consists of a mixing tank, a bioreactor, a cellβrecycle unit, and an extractor. A generalized mathematical model was formulated to express the integrated process. We

Abstract
The reaction between calcium hydroxide and cane sugar under different condition of temperature mid time of heating has been studied, with particular reference to the amount of a pure derivative of lactic acid that can ho isolated front the reaction. The zinc salt has been used for this purpose, and zinc lactate corresponding to 71% of the theoretical yield baa been obtained.

## Abstract Separation and purification of lactic acid from the fermentation broth are difficult because of its nonβvolatile nature and the presence of other organic acids. Esterification of lactic acid with methanol followed by hydrolysis of the separated methyl lactate is an effective technique f
