SINCE rhe work of Loeser (1940) testosterone has become a well-established agent in the hormone treatment of advanced breast cancer, and has been found particularly valuable in controlling bone metastases. Soft-tissue metastases respond less often to this line of treatment, and even in the most favourable cases the regression of metastases seldom lasts more than two years. appearance, with only a small scar at the site of the tumour, with a little induration under it. The patient was followed up regularly and remained quite well until March, 1954, when she complained of a cough, and a radiograph of the chest showed the presence of several rounded opacities typical of pulmonary metastases
