โฆ Synopsis
Although the histology of the suprarenal is well known to every investigator, a specimen was recently obtained which showed a striking deviation from the usual structure. Upon microscopic examination . of sections of a monkey's suprarenal, there were definite and unmistakable evidences of bone formation. Since the presence of bone in this situation is musual, a brief description seems appropriate.
The suprarenal had been removed for routine class material from a female monkey belonging to the genus Jlacus rhesus. Sections of the organ were fixed in potassium bichromate, embedded in celloidin, stained in hematoxylin and eosin, and mounted in balsam. These preparations showed the suprarenal cortex, medulla, and hone in sharp differentiation.
