β¦ Synopsis
junction with the ASIS Publications Committee, can now become a reality. In the December 1991 issue of the Journal of the American Society for Information Science (JASIS, Vol. 42, No. lo), there is an Editorial entitled "Happy Days Are Here Again." In that Editorial, it is noted that after a few years of suffering under the weight of a large backlog of articles waiting for publication, the long delays are now a thing of the past. The Editorial talks about the reasons for the delays and the mechanisms that helped solve the problems, so that one need not repeat them here.
The Publisher, John Wiley & Sons, Inc., and the JASIS Editorial Board have approved going to even more pages next year. This will allow us to, not only cut the backlog even further (on the order of six to seven months), but will allow us to have more Perspectives.
