✦ Synopsis
A new cadmium free CuInSe 2 (CIS) superstrate cell has been developed. The cell consists of an indium tin oxide (ITO)/indium selenide (In 2 Se 3 )/CIS/Au structure. Both layers, In 2 Se 3 and CIS, have been electrodeposited successively on large areas of 60 cm 2 of ITO substrates. The pn-junction has been formed following an annealing treatment under selenium atmosphere at 3008C. X-ray diraction was used to characterise the CIS ®lm, photocurrent voltage measurements and spectral responses of the completed cell are shown. A preliminary eciency of 2 . 8% has been obtained.
