✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A broadband rectangular microstrip antenna, which utilizes a rectangular channel feed to obtain 25% impedance bandwidth, is described. A finite‐difference time‐domain (FDTD) analysis of the element's input impedance and radiation patterns versus measurement are presented. The FDTD impedance analysis utilizes a simplified coaxial probe feed. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A broadband low‐profile E‐shaped patch antenna with a novel microstrip‐compatible feed is presented. The new feed structure makes E‐shaped patch antennas more suitable for integration with microstrip circuits. It is demonstrated by designing and testing an antenna with a height of 3.3 m
