✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A new broadband high‐efficiency bow‐tie slot antenna is proposed for wireless local area network (WLAN) applications in dual‐frequency bands (5.15–5.35 GHz and 5.728–5.825 GHz). To achieve this objective, the radiating slot is fed by a new feeding circuit by using a microstrip line with a strip fork tuning stub. By optimizing the parameters of the antenna structure, one can let the frequency band of the antenna meet and exceed the band requirements of WLAN applications, and the radiation efficiency can be up to more than 90% in the interested bands. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
