## Abstract In a patient with an EBVโgenomeโpositive nasoโpharyngeal carcinoma, an EBVโgenomeโnegative inguinal lymph node without histological evidence of malignant lymphoma or metastatic carcinoma growth was found to contain a 14q+ marker chromosome, identified as an 8;14 translocation, in all ce

โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
The malignant epithelial cells of two anaplastic EBVโcarrying nasopharyngeal carcinomas (NPC) were investigated cytogenetically by Giemsa banding technique. Both tumors had a similar 3q+ marker chromosome with an involvement of band q25, either a dupliction of the region q25โq27, or insertion of an unidentified segment at band q25.

Between December 1979 and April 1982, 373 patients with untreated, undifferentiated carcinoma of the nasopharynx (NPC), 99 in Hong Kong, I20 in Tunis and 154 in Villejuif, entered a longitudinal study aimed at determining the clinical prognostic value of EBV serology after radiotherapy. Loss of heterozygosity (LOH) of chromosome arm 3p has been commonly observed in carcinomas of various tissues, including those of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). To determine the frequency and extent of allelic loss in NPC, we investigated 16 loci on chromosome bands 3p21-26 in 24 tumor tissues by m
## Abstract Nonrandom allelic loss on chromosome 3p is a common event in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) with the implication that certain tumor suppressor gene(s) in this region are involved in the pathogenesis of these tumors. The __BLU__ gene, located at 3p21.3, has recently been identified as a
