The self-propagating high-temperature synthesis gravitational thermit process manufactures the alumina ceramic lined steel pipe for the pulverized coal jet used in blast furnaces. A discussion takes place into the principle of utilizing a ceramic composite pipe to improve the service life and the structure and properties of the composite pipe are examined.
