✦ Synopsis

Derived from petroleum or coal heavy oils, carbonaceous materials or resin powders are impregnated with metal compounds such as nitrates, chlorides and hydroxides and then carbonized and graphitized to give partially graphitized crystalline carbonaceous materials as the battery anodes. The anodes and the batteries are also claimed. The batteries exhibit high discharge capacity and excellent cycling property.
