โฆ Synopsis
This paper presents a review of the uses of catalytic membrane reactors in petroleum refineries, with emphasis on Hz permselectivity and separation in industrial processes. Hz production can be enhanced by using palladiumbased membranes for dehydrogenation, oxydehydrogenation and decomposition reactions. Permselective Hz membranes could be used for carrying out selective hydrogenations of organic substrates and coupled reactions.
