The effect of sensible heating of the phase-change material (PCM) before melting and subcooling after solidification, on the performance of the latent heat storage system (LHSS), is studied in terms of first-and second-law efficiencies for the overall charge-discharge cycle. The external heat transf

Use of pitch-dolomite refractories in steelmaking ladles Chumarin, B. A. et al. Metalhug., 1997, (7) 13-16. (In Russian) Using pitch binder, lime-periclase refractories and the technology for lining ladles with the refractories were developed and implemented. The starting materials used were dolomite and coke pitch. A furnace for heat treatment of linings was developed and put into operation. The composition of the refractories fabricated was CaO 55.5-58.0%, MgO 35.0-37.0%, SiOa 2.5-3.0% and RsOs 3.0-4.0%, they had a density of 2.91-2.93 g/cm3 and a tensile strength of 40-60 MPa.

This study makes an evaluation of the performances of heat storage systems destined for power plants with a discontinuous power source such as nuclear fusion. Two classes of heat storage systems are investigated: heat storage systems based on "rst sensible heat storage and second latent heat storage
## Abstract Phase change material (PCM) employed latent heat thermal storage (LHTS) system has been showing good potential over the years for energy management, particularly in solar energy systems. However, enhancement in thermal conductivity of PCMs is emphasized as PCMs are known for their poor
