✦ Synopsis

An annular chamber provided with local ore feed and discharge as well as peripheral burners and a gas-transfer system is included in the rotaryhearth furnace for ore treatment.

The CO-rich atmosphere from coal combustion is applied for the reduction of the ore and recirculated in the furnace for secondary combustion with heat recovery and decreased pollution in discharge.

An analysis of fracture and deformation modes in tooth enamel subjected to occlusal loading is presented. Several competing modes are identified: deformation by yield beneath the indenter; median cracking from the ensuing plastic zone and analogous radial cracking from the dentin-enamel junction alo

In this investigation, coupled (thermal and structure) finite-element analysis has been employed to analyse the influences of porosity volume, size and distribution in MgO.ZrO,-GG coating subjected to thermal loading. Coatings with and without NiAl interlayer material were modeled. All models had a

Predictions of crack arrest behaviour are performed for a cracked reactor pressure vessel under both thermal and pressure loading. The object is to compare static and dynamic calculations. The dynamic calculations are made using an explicit finite-element technique where crack growth is simulated by

The behaviour of a bi-piezoelectric ceramic layer with a centre interfacial crack subjected to anti-plane shear and in-plane electric loading has been studied. The dislocation density functions and the Fourier integral transform method have been employed to eliminate the problem of singular integral
