β¦ Synopsis
The thermochemical process alternatives for the production of liquid fuels from biomass/solid waste are assessed and air and oxygen gasification concepts are compared.
The air gasification option seems economically attractive. The authors put forward a proposal for a treatment process of 1 kton/day of solid waste for the production of liquid fuels. The technical and economic assessment shows that the process is technically feasible for solid waste utilization and appears to be more economically attractive than the processes using other solid feedstocks such as coal and wood.
