✦ Synopsis

The synthesis gas is treated in the presence of water vapour, at elevated temperature and pressure with a composite metal oxide-containing catalyst comprising molybdenum oxide, Ti02, and Al203 and in substantial absence of Group VIII elements or compounds.

The resulting synthesis gas is washed.
