Technology of methyl ester production and its application to biodiesel Gutsche, B. FettlLipid, 1997, 99, (12) 418-427. (In German) Over the last decade, rapid development of the technology for Me ester production from plant oils for fuel application was experienced. A short introduction into basics of Me ester synthesis is given by this paper. Different production technologies like small agroplants or big oleochemical plants as well as batch or continuous processing are presented. Some conclusions about European technologies currently available, based on literature data, are given.

Thermal cracking was performed on an asphaltene residue from a synthetic crude obtained by coal liquefaction. The kinetics of formation of oil + gas and coke from conversion of the asphaltene fraction were determined. The authors propose a three-lump model, taking into account the parallel reactions
