✦ Synopsis
Fuel science and technology (fundamental science, analysis, instrumentation) 98102518 Development of a standardized test for the reactivity of semicoke in NO, reduction DMT-Gesellschaft Forschung und Prufung mbH Comm. Eur. Communities, [Rep./ EUR. 1997, (EUR 15202) 38 pp. (In German). Developed to estimate the reactivity of coal-derived semi-coke in the NO. reduction reaction common in fluidized-bed coal-fired furnaces for reduced NO, emissions, a standardized test is introduced.
The method takes into account the complexity of the semi-coke surface, the kinetics of the carbon-NO, reaction, the role of semi-coke as both a reactant and a catalyst, the temperature history of the semi-coke, and other factors of the reaction. After grinding to -1OOpm particle size, the semi-coke is subjected to tests under quasi-steady-state conditions at two temperatures with variable amounts of NO in the feed gas.
