✦ Synopsis
In order to determine the elemental contents of carbon, hydrogen, sulfur and nitrogen in coal, a one-step method for combined combustion and gas absorption was developed. Following combustion in 02 in several furnaces, the gases are sent to separate absorption tubes for selective removal of gases. After reaction, the tubes can be weighed to obtain data on increased weight resulting from the absorption of gas components.
