16 Fuel science and technology (fundamental science, analysis, instrumentation) in the description of the devolatilization stage is an important aspect in relation to the prediction of gas quality. Numerical solution of conservation equations is carried out by splitting the mathematical operators for the chemical processes and the transport phenomena. Results of the first stage are presented in this study.
