✦ Synopsis

Gaseous fuels (sources, properties, recovery, treatment) 96AIll73

Effect of preparation of suspension of petroleum tar with Baltic oil shale on hydrocracklng Gorlov, E.G. et al. fiim. Tverd. Topl., 1997, (2) 52-55. (In Russian)

In the preparation of petroleum tar-oil shale suspensions the effect of mixing conditions on yields of gasoline and diesel fuel during subsequent thermal cracking was evaluated. Three methods for mixing the petroleum tar and oil shale were used: (1) mechanical mixing, (2) mechanical mixing and subsequent vibration milling, (3) using shale milled in the vibration mill for blending with tar. A suspension prepared from petroleum tar and vibration milled shale achieved the highest hydrogen redistribution.

During thermal cracking, the least stable bonds were disintegrated, hydrocarbons in the tar were cracked and the yields of gasoline and diesel fuel were increased.
