✦ Synopsis

The synthesis gas is treated in the presence of water vapour at elevated temperature and pressure with a composite metal oxide-containing catalyst comprising MO oxide, TiOz, and AlaOs, and in substantial absence of Group VIII elements or compounds.

The resulting synthesis gas is then washed.

An experimental program has been completed where detailed measurements of a pulverized coal Β―ame with advanced reburning have been obtained. Maps of species (CO, CO 2 , O 2 , NO, HCN, and NH 3 ), temperature, and velocity have been obtained consisting of approximately 60 measurements across a cross

On the basis of analysing the lean flammability limits of pulverized coal combustion and the mechanism of flame stabilization of low-volatile pulverized coal by the bluff-body burner, a new principle is presented that improves ignition and flame stability of low-volatile pulverized coal. For example
