✦ Synopsis

paper, an engine with high compression ratio, lean burn and turbocharging was investigated using techniques for improving thermal efficiency while getting equivalent IMEP to the base diesel engine. By adopting these techniques, indicated thermal efficiency of the engine was increased by about 23% over that using the usual compression ratio, stoichiometric combustion and natural aspiration systems.
