โœฆ Synopsis

Influence of injection pressure of swirl nozzle on vaporization and mixture gas formation was examined by measurement of pressure change in a closed vessel just after injection. Pressure change represents vaporization of fuel at low temperature, and represents mixture gas formation rather than vaporization at high temperature. High injection pressure made the pressure change more rapid. More than 10MPa injection pressure would be desirable for rapid vaporization and mixture gas formation.

A large amount of EGR was introduced into a direct injection gasoline engine. According to the increase of EGR rate, it was found that the combustion at the late period is hastened in spite of reduction of the initial burning rate. In consequence, both HC and NO V were reduced by EGR. This suggests
