Jaschek (AVL List GmbH) Blow-by gas travels from the combustion chamber into the crank case cavity due to gaps in the seal between the piston rings and the cylinder wall. Blow-by gas is a very aggressive, heavily pulsating gas, whose direction of flow can even reverse. The measuring instrument presented here is based on the orifice measurement principle and designed to handle such situations, as well as offering further advantages such as a high measurement accuracy of 1%, low pressure loss, etc.
