โœฆ Synopsis

The IEA (International Energy Agency) model was improved by introducing over-bed feeding and improving the distribution of volatile matter throughout the comhustor. This formed the modelling of fluidized-bed combustion of Yugoslavian coals. Nearly 50 test runs were used that were conducted over the past decade. The improved model can be used to predict combustion of Yugoslavian coals to lIO%, hut gas emissions predictions were somewhat less accurate.

The velocity-dissipation-composition probability density function (pdf) method is used to model a turbulent CO/H2/N2-air-piloted jet diffusion flame in the regime of extinction. The thermochemistry is modeled by a three-scalar simplified formulation obtained by the intrinsic low-dimensional manifold
