Modification to technique using two detectors for assay of radioactive waste drum Dung, T. 0. An,,. A'ucl. trter;~. lYY7. 24, (X), 645-6.57.
This paper proposes modifications to the method developed by
Ceaana cl crl. (1993). Improvements include: smaller statistical and maximum systematic errors. rapid estimation of activity in a drum, and more convenient practical utilization. 97102044 Operational experiences of fast neutron source reactor 'YAYOI' as a pulsed fast reactor Wakahayashi, H. et al. Pro,~ress in Nuclear Enera, 1997, 32, (l/2), 43-52. YAYOI was intended to be operated as a dynamic fast neutron source reactor as well as a stationary one. Reactivity adding devices with both slow and quick action are included in its make up, The novel concept of flythrough type pulse reactivity addition into the core lends itself to minimizing thermal shock problems pertaining to fast burst reactors thereby increasing safety of a single shot type burst reactor. The paper describes experience galncd from the operation of YAYOI and provides an explanation of its design aspects. 97lO2845 The optimum operating conditions of the phased double-rotor facility at the ET-RR-7 reactor Naguib, K. et al. Ann. Nucl. Energy, 1997, 24, (7), 533-542. A phased double-rotor facility produces a pulsed neutron polyenergetic thermal beam at ET-RR-l. One of the rotors has two diametrically opposite curved slots, while the second is designed to operate as a rotating collimator. Good agreement was observed between the calculated collimator transmissions at different operating conditions and the experimental ones. The optimum operating conditions of the double-rotor facility are determined. The calculations were carried out using a computer program RCOL, designed to operate on PCs.
