✦ Synopsis

Chemical structures of branched alkanes identified in Jurassic coals with coal-related mudstones from the Turpan-Hami basin and their geochemical significance Wang, C.et al. Diqiu Huaxue 1997, 26, (I), 72-84. (In Chinese).

The detection of several long-chain mono-and dimethyl-branched alkanes in Jurassic coals and mudstones from the Turpan-Hami

Basin, northwestern China is reported. The findings are detailed. It is concluded that the occurrence of mono-and dimethyl-branched alkanes in coals and mudstones, especially in coals, may imply that same lipid-rich organic matter can be formed in coal-forming environments.
