โœฆ Synopsis

Removal of particulate material by ceramic candle filters

Aroussi, A. et al. IMechE Semin. 1996

, (3, Energy for the 21st Century), 193-204. The use of ceramic candle filters for the filtration of hot combustion gases is investigated. The focus lies on the deposition patterns of the particulate material, as a function of the local flow conditions. This contributes to the understanding of the filter cake formation and ultimately to the development of an efficient cleaning mechanism. The work presented is based on an experimental study using a non-intrusive optical anemometer and a computational study using CFD.

A computational model for the prediction of the thermal behaviour of a compact multi-layer latent heat storage unit is presented. The model is based on the conservation equations of energy for the phase change material (PCM) and the heat transfer fluid (HTF). Electrical heat sources embedded inside

The thermal performance of a thermosyphon solar air heater with built-in latent heat thermal energy storage system is presented. Phase change materials (PCM) of different melting temperatures (Tin) of 61, 51, 43 and 32ยฐC are studied and compared with the system with no storage material. The results
