โœฆ Synopsis

In the blast furnace process, coke and its substitute reductants including heavy oil, injected coal, and waste plastics, are charged as C and hydrocarbon carriers. They serve primarily to generate reducing gases containing varying amounts of CO and H. Without these reducing gases the reduction of the iron ore cannot take place.
