The relation between air ratio fluctuations and NO, formation was investigated in a combustor with a multiport burner. By use of a laser absorption method to measure the fuel methane concentration, the air ratio fluctuations were evaluated under two mixing conditions: complete and incomplete mixing.

The effect of O 2 composition modulation on the dynamics and structure of lean CH 4 /air premixed flames was computationally and experimentally investigated, in light of its relevance to oxygen-enhanced combustion (OEC). OEC can result in conditions of stable combustion with reduced NO x emissions.
To elucidate the process of 'fuel NO,' formation from cokes and chars on combustion, carbons obtained from urea-resin and melamine-resin were subjected to combustion under a stream of pure oxygen at temperatures between 600ยฐC and 1000ยฐC. The carbons subjected to combustion without any additives prod
