โฆ Synopsis
A set of deposit samples from combustion of coal were characterized with respect to their compositions, phases present, and morphology. These deposits are of primary importance in determining the effect of depositon on heat transfer throuah the water wall. and on the removabilitv of the deposit. For the coal &d combustor sysiem analyzed,, the results'indicate that both K and Fe have significant effects on deposItIon behaviour in the early deposition stage.

The thermodynamic equilibrium constants for the reduction of oxygen and sulphur functional groups in hydrogen and in tetralin were calculated for the temperature range 327-527ยฐC. All the reduction reactions of the oxygen groups are thermodynamically favourable both with hydrogen and with tetralin.
