โœฆ Synopsis

A set of deposit samples from combustion of coal were characterized with respect to their compositions, phases present, and morphology. These deposits are of primary importance in determining the effect of depositon on heat transfer throuah the water wall. and on the removabilitv of the deposit. For the coal &d combustor sysiem analyzed,, the results'indicate that both K and Fe have significant effects on deposItIon behaviour in the early deposition stage.

Boiler ash deposits generated during combustion of coal, biomass, black liquor, and energetic materials affect both the net plant efficiency and operating strategy of essentially all boilers. Such deposits decrease convective and radiative heat exchange with boiler heat transfer surfaces. In many ca
