New algorithms are presented for steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) in oil sand reservoirs using vertical injectors-producers and vertical injectors-horizontal producers. A vertical-well algorithm was developed and extended to account for steam chamber confinement due to adjacent vertical wells.
