The 8th World Salt Symposium will be held in the Netherlands Congress Centre in The Hague, The Netherlands, May 7-11, 2000. The Symposium is organized by Akzo Nobel Salt in cooperation with the European Salt Producers' Association (ESPA). Salt is an essential part of human existence as it will be in the new millennium. By combining a scientific symposium and a technical exhibition, the 8th World Salt Symposium provides a platform for scientists and technologists to exchange developments in know-how and technology of salt and salt-related topics in the widest sense. Salt producers and users will be educated on the threats and opportunities affecting the salt business and facilitation of integration of new developments and technologies into their business processes.
Topics to be covered will include: salt sources/occurrence, salt extraction, salt production/processing, salt markets, new uses of salt, salt and the environment, and salt and health.
