microscopy. It is apparent that oxidation affects the pore geometry in different ways. Graphon, P33 and British Pile Graphite all behave quite distinctly and it has been possible to formulate different models describing the manner in which the pore structure changes. The effect which mass transport and chemical reaction has on the oxidation of these materials is also discussed.
