✦ Synopsis
At 150 K, the tricyclic core of the title compound, C 34 H 31 NO 3 , is close to planar. One of the three 4-methoxyphenyl substituents is twisted out of the plane of the tricyclic core due to steric congestion.

The title compound, C 29 H 27 NO 7 , has a non-planar con®guration. The methoxycarbonylmethyl group exhibits an E con®guration. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular OÐHÁ Á ÁO and CÐHÁ Á ÁO contacts.
In the title compound, C 14 H 13 NO 5 , the C atom between the benzene and oxazolone rings displays a distorted trigonal bonding geometry. The oxazolone and aromatic rings are approximately coplanar.
The molecule of the title compound, C 21 H 22 N 2 O 2 , is nearly planar, except for the C(CH 3 ) 2 group on the cyclohexene ring. Molecules are connected via electrostatic CÁ Á ÁO contacts, forming zigzag pseudo-chains along the c axis.
