✦ Synopsis
Most practising microwave circuit engineers, whether or not they are actively engaged in computer-aided design, usually have to rely on a wide variety of sources for circuit design information principally because these circuits can be fabricated in a considerable variety of transmission systems. This book represents a valuable attempt at overcoming this problem by gathering together into a single volume most of the relevant formulae and methods used in microwave circuit CAD. On the other hand, for the circuit designer who is not conversant with the electromagnetic characteristics of discontinuities and junctions in wave-guiding systems, a book such as this, which is designed primarily to provide formulae and techniques and is consequently weak on derivations and explanations, can result in unintelligent use. Fortunately, however, the authors have provided copious references at the end of each chapter so these readers can readily access more thorough treatments of much of the material selected for this book.
The computer-aided design process can sensibly be divded into three main areas, namely circuit modelling,
